Confinement Expenses

An insured woman and an insured person in respect of his wife shall be paid a sum of rupees one thousand per case as "confinement expenses" (earlier termed as medical bonus)  , provided that the confinement occurs at a place where necessary medical facilities under the ESI Scheme are not available. i.e. where facility for confinement is not available in the ESI institutions at place of confinement.

 Also confinement expenses shall be payable for two confinements only. 

Benefit is payable at the Branch Office to which Insured Woman / Insured Person is attached. Confinement expenses in respect of IP's wife will be paid to the IP.
